A couple years ago I became really frustrated with dabbing torches. All of the cheap welding torches I kept buying just didn’t seem to last very long. I started looking into the heavier duty dab torches then I came across the Bernzomatic TS8000. I was used to cheaper handheld butane torches, so the step up in quality was very nice. Bernzomatic TS8000 Review

The first thing to note is that this really is a heavy duty torch for dabs. You can use either High Intensity torch fuel or propane to get your flame. Propane works just fine and it is usually cheaper and easier to get than HI torch fuel. Instead of refilling a tank you just attach a new tank to the Bernzomatic TS8000 nozzle, so its a lot easier to replace the fuel than some dab torches. This product is also manufactured in the United States.

This is one of the more adjustable dabbing torches that I have used. It has an on and off switch for the ignition as well as an adjustable flame control knob. While it is a larger torch, it is one of the more easier controlled dabbing torches. You can easily use this torch with one hand while you use the other for your dab rig.

Bernzomatic makes a variety of excellent torches for dabs. Whether you are looking for something simple, or a little more elaborate like the Bernzomatic TS8000, they’ve got you covered. When you have the propane gas cylinder attached the torch stands pretty tall. This is much larger than all of my other torches, but it is the most reliable. In general the Bernzomatic TS8000 is an all around good torch that can be used for a variety of things and I highly recommend it for anyone who may use it for dabbing and other things.

Bernzomatic TS8000 Fuel Tanks

The Bernzomatic TS8000 nozzle fits on almost any propane cylinder so it is easy to find replacement tanks. I sometimes use the Bernzomatic MAP/Pro Premium Torch Fuel, but for the most part I just use any cheap propane tanks that I can find. Sometimes I find Coleman propane tanks very cheap and those work just as good. The problem I have with the propane cylinders is that they get pretty light when they are empty and the torch won’t standup without falling. Using the fatter green propane tanks usually eliminates this problem.

The Bernzomatic Propane Fuel cylinder is very easy to use, all you do is remove the cap and screw your TS8000 nozzle on. The Bernzomatic propane fuel cylinder usually come in a 14.1 oz size. I recommend you keep a couple extra tanks of fuel around. The worst thing you can do is run out of fuel when you want to dab. The Bernzomatic TS 8000 does not come with any fuel so you are going to need to purchase some to get you started. If you are trying to use this torch for more than one purpose, I recommend you try out both fuel options and see which one suits your needs.
