Vaping vs Smoking Weed

So if you’ve been smoking weed for a while you probably have tried or at least heard of vaporizing weed. Many smokers will switch to vaporizing because it is easier on the lungs and cleaner all around. There are many health benefits to Vaping vs Smoking weed, but you can also affect your “high.” Some people have a strict preference on how they intake their Marijuana , most people don’t care. “Weed is weed” “My body just craves THC” “I don’t care unless I can smoke it.”

Vaping vs Smoking

One of the reasons I like vaporizing weed is the difference in the high I get compared to regular smoking. Vaporizing allows you to eliminate 95% carcinogens and release more cannabinoids. Because there is no combustion you aren’t burning the herbs then inhaling them. You are just inhaling the part that gets you high. This can make the high feel more crisp and elaborate than after a regular smoke session. I prefer to vape Sativas in my weed vaporizer.

On the other side the high you get from smoking weed can feel heavier. If you’ve ever binged smoked weed before: bowls, joints, bongs, etc…you’ll know what I mean when I say a heavier high. Sometimes when I have smoked a lot of weed I just feel really slow and sleeping, even if my high is fading I still feel sluggish. When you burn the weed when you smoke it you are breathing in all of those carcinogens as well as butane from the lighter. This can cause your high to feel a little foggy and give you that heavier high feeling.

These things can change based on the type of weed your smoking, as well as the quality. You also want to save your drier herbs for the vaporizer. If you try to vaporize bud that is too sticky, you might not have a good experience. I always leave some weed out to dry for my vaporizer. Plus I prefer to smoke the sticky stuff the regular way, it burns longer and taste better in my opinion.

Here is a biased chart for vaporizing but it does provide some good information on the health differences of vaping vs smoking.

Marijuana Vaporizers

I feel every smoker should have some sort of vaporizer for weed, whether its a portable vaporizer or one you keep at home. There are many different kinds of vaporizers, and it really depends on how much you’re looking to spend. You get into the hundreds and get yourself a volcano vaporizer, one of the best on the market. Or you can keep it under $100 and get yourself a portable vaporizer pen and use it for weed.

If you have friends with vaporizers try theirs out, ask them about it. Luckily for me I knew many people with different vaporizers who let me try theirs before I bought mine. Bring over some weed and pack your friends vaporizer and see if it works for you. I would also suggest avoid spending too little on vaporizer pens, there are a lot of cheaper brands out there that claim to be vaporizers but they are not. A while ago I purchased one of the more common pen vaporizers and it was one of the one with a coil in the bottom of a ceramic chamber.

I don’t feel that those can be called vaporizers as they burn the weed. You want to find something with a temperature control, over 450 degrees will cause combustion.
